About Life Skills:

Life Skills helps individuals with development disabilities -- including autism -- learn, live and work in their community. Headquartered in St. Louis, Life Skills is a nationwide leader in the treatment and management of Autism Spectrum Disorders, and one of the largest organizations of its kind, serving over 4,000 people throughout the state of Missouri.  Most work locations are in the St. Louis Metropolitan Area.

Life Skills offers its employees an opportunity to enrich the lives of others. Most Life Skills employees directly support people with disabilities in their home, at work, or in the community, by assisting them in maintaining independence and helping them meet personalized goals.  Life Skills also employs staff in administrative, managerial, clinical, and nursing positions.

In addition to competitive pay, Life Skills offers many benefits to its employees. All employees are immediately eligible to participate in a 403(b) retirement savings plan that includes a robust company match. All employees are also eligible for an Employee Assistant Plan, which provides free counseling services.  At Life Skills, full-time employees work 35 hours or more per week. Full-time employees are eligible for affordable health, dental, and vision insurance. Dental insurance is entirely free to full-time employees. Full-time employees also receive free life insurance with a benefit amount equivalent to their annual pay. Additional life insurance and both short-term and long-term disability insurance is also available.

Life Skills offers flexible schedules that often suit the needs of employees who attend school or have another job.  Many positions at Life Skills involve supporting clients during shifts that occur in the evening or on the weekend. Overnight shifts are also available.  All employment opportunities at Life Skills require at least a high school diploma or GED. Positions involving supporting clients may require you to use your personal vehicle for work purposes, so a valid driver's license and auto insurance is necessary. New employees receive extensive paid training, both on the job and in a classroom setting, to help them perform their work as effectively as possible.
